He practices an integrative and holistic approach to nutrition counselling providing science-based guidance on food and diet along with the judicious use of nutritional supplements and natural health products when appropriate.

According to clients, friends and others who he’s worked with, his strength lies in his ability to explain complicated nutrition concepts in plain language which he then puts into everyday practical dietary advice. Putting nutritional issues into perspective and much needed context, he’s able to help individualize a particular topic while keeping the big picture in mind.

He co-authored the book Nutrition for Canadians for Dummies and writes a nutrition column in the Hamilton Spectator.
