Hi Everyone, I have been trying these for months and months but it doesn’t help me anymore. I am talking about six pack abs that I am trying to get. I joined a gym for this and the trainer told me that I would get them…but NOOOO!! That did not help me and later on I have tried a few tips that I have been suggested by my friends but that also was of no use (the whole thing helped the abs a little…but not as I wanted). So, now can anyone suggest me any ways or ideas to get them

Thanks for any help!!!

Have you ever tried yoga or Pilates? They really helped me tone my abs and that is definitely one of my trouble spots.

This has some great insight about Yoga and how it can help. smile.gif http://buzz.prevention.com/community/dina-...ng-road-to-yoga

Good luck.

It's all about your diet bud. Exercise can only do so much... you have to increase the intensity of your workouts for one thing... and why don't you cut out all enriched high sugar foods. Focus on complex carbs, lean protein, and mono and poly unsaturated fats for your nutritional intake.

And stop worrying so much about how your abs look... why do you want six pack abs in the first place. Sure, it'd be nice. But they typically won't last your whole life and if you're trying to pick up a potential mate with your abs, that's totally shallow for someone to like you just for your abs. Hopefully your desires for a 6 pack come from more than this..... been there, had them.... still toned but not quite ripped... never made me happy.

Best of luck.

Hi Josh83,
Great post, I agree totally!!!
Abs are only your Rectus abdominis muscles exposed ie the layers of fat removed from over them. Everyone can achieve them at any stage of life, but it all gets back to diet unless you are working out furiously in a gym. Body builders take a different approach to this, they want to get huge as well as ripped, but you can diet away the excess weight and become just as ripped without the need to become huge, and it can be achieved at no extra cost, just reduce over eating and engage in normal exercise eg walking, gardening or jogging. Pig out on low energy foods to reduce excessive calorie intake.

I would definitely try Pilates or workouts that target the abdomen. I used to do abdominal workouts for 10 minutes a day, but it wasn't enough. I had flat abs, but I didn't have much definition. Also, the fact that I ate everything I wanted didn't help. Once I cut my calorie intake, and increased my abdominal workouts (30-45 minutes a day). I started to develop a mini-six pack.
