Hi Everyone,
My adoptive Dad is recently diagnosed with cancer in the lungs, liver and stomach. Had few sessions of chemo and is doing well until a couple days ago. He has been having diarrhea for the past 3 days and is very lethargic. I'm very upset about this. What can be done? I talked to my Adoptive Mom and she said that she called the patient advocate. She hopes to hear from her tonight. In the meantime can somebody please help?
Thanks for your input,
Jing

diarrhea is a very common side effect of chemotherapy. the most important thing you dad needs right now is your love. my dad went thru radiation therapy a few years ago so i understand how it feels to see a loved one going thru tough time. pls make sure that your dad is not dehydrated and not losing too much weight. ask the cancer center to refer a dietician who specializes in chemo or oncology.
pls keep us posted.

Thanks Ahyan for your reply and encouragement. My dad is now at the hospital for severe dehydration. He's not eating anymore. It seems like the end is near. Thankfully he has no pain whatsoever and that gives us comfort.
Thank,
Jing

Just because it looks like the end may be near doesn't mean you need give up.
Have your fathers Doctor increase his Glutathione levels for a while, put him on an undenatured whey protein and he should show signs of recovery in a few days.
It's the best idea I could come up with and if you have time for the research here is a GOOGLE link to some information

I hope you can get something out of all this.
Email or Private Message me and we can talk.

Thanks Randy for your reply. Actually, he passed away today around 2:30 PM. It's his 84th bday. It was an easy transition from this life to another. The greatest blessing is that he went home without any pain. That was our main concern that he does not suffer too much. I'll visit the site later. I'm sure it will help my husband's boss who is recently diagnosed with stomach cancer.
