Breakfast...it's always the following:
  • Kashi U
  • Yogurt (Yoplait...the red one)
  • 1 Egg
  • Handful of some fresh berries
  • 100% Orange Juice with Omega-3

Lunch is mostly a sandwich:
  • Whole Grain wheat bread with Flax
  • Hormel Natural Choice Turkey (I know lunch meat has a lot of salt)
  • Alfalfa Sprouts
  • Swiss Cheese
  • Mustard
  • and then some raw veggies like carrots and broccolli...sometimes a piece of fruit
  • Snack at work is...prunes! tongue.gif
  • Fridays in Lent I will probably be eat peanut butter instead of turkey and swiss...

When I get off work I might snack on some multigrain crackers and cheese. I don't eat too much...just if I am really hungry and had a long day.

Dinner depends...
  • once time a week I might eat whole wheat pasta and tomato sauce or pesto
  • a couple of times a week I heat half a chicken breast and veggies...or sometimes I make stirfry with minimal soy sauce
  • twice a week I might eat tilapia and spinach (I cook it together with some salt-free lemon pepper...tasty!)
  • sometimes I make tacos out of turkey meat...with all the rice and beans to go with it
  • I might also eat some turkey burgers on whole wheat buns...and veggies as a side
  • 2-4 times a MONTH I might eat salmon...I like tilapia better and it contains almost undetectable amounts of mercury
  • Sometimes I cook rice (brown!) and beans but I make them from scratch so...maybe only once a week on both of them.

Really my dinner diet depends on what I want to eat. My order of most eaten meat to least goes like this... Chicken, tilapia, turkey, salmon, shrimp. I don't really like red meats. I only eat them when someone else cooks them. For instance, I will eat steak if my parents have a family get-together. My veggies depends on what is available and looks good. I usually buy fresh broccolli, carrots, spinach and anything else that looks like it just got off the truck. I eat it slightly cooked with a little bit of olive oil (unless I put that on my meat). I typically buy berries (blueberries mostly), apples, oranges, bananas, mangos, strawberries, ...whatever is fresh.

I eat a try to eat omega-3 since I have eczema and when I was taking flaxseed oil, it really helped! Flaxseed oil started getting old after awhile. I take supplements. I take a multivitamin and calcium (with magnesium and zinc) at breakfast. I do not really like milk so I figure the calcium tablets are a good investment. I also workout for an hour Monday through Friday. I walk at an incline on a treadmill for 30 minutes and then it is a stair climber for the other 30 minutes. I also walk plenty at my job since I work as an engineer for a company. Their manufacturing plant is HUGE. We make tires from raw materials to the final inspected product. The plant must be 3/4 of a mile long and 1/2 a mile wide. I get plenty of walking. By the way, I will go ahead and confirm that after seeing Michelin's maunfacturing process...they make a high quality tire. They also do hand inspect every tire ...amoung many other inspections. wink.gif

What do you think needs improvement? I try to buy as much organic as I possibly can but there is no organic produce in my town. It's a small town...I will leave it at that.
