What are some of the best foods to eat to raise iron levels ? My mum has mestastasized breast cancer and has been doing well for about two years with a combination of traditional medicine along with a healthy diet and some supplements. However her iron levels are frequently borderline. She rarely eats red meat, though does eat plenty of fish and chicken occasionally. Cheers for any insights.

Hi Michael, welcome to the forum. Other than red meat, quite a few variety of seafoods are a good source of iron. In case you haven't come cross this article from our archive - here you go http://www.healthcastle.com/iron.shtml

If your mom prefers a vegetarian source, the following is a more detailed list of iron-rich vegetables. Try this pdf file

hope it helps!
