Hi Everyone,

I am a new member. Can anyone tell me if I can take flax seed, grape seed extract and citrus bioflavanoids with coumadin without any interactions? I am on coumadin due to a dvt caused by taking birth control pills over the age of 45 a couple of years ago. Thanks for your help.

hi bomber, welcome to the free nutrition board. coumadin is a type of anticoagulant which act by inhibiting Vitamin K activity. generally people taking coumadin are advised to avoid EXCESSIVE intake of Vit-K and Vit-C foods as well as moderate alcohol consumption. If you are eating ~5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily - that is not excessive at all laugh.gif however be sure to check your multivit supplements as well other supplements you are currently taking. The best person to talk to regarding drug-supplement interactions is your pharmacist!!

hope it helps!
