One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations.

Whiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels.

In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth.

'There are some great products out there to whiten your teeth without causing sensitivity. In my own experience I got the best results when i used a tooth whitener and then maintained it with a whitening toothpaste. I have never been able to get the toothpaste alone to whiten my teeth but found it to be a great maintainer. It doesn't have to cost a fortune to get a great smile. Here is a site that has many free offers available on it to get you started. Even during the free trial you can brighten your teeth like 8 or 9 shades!

I've actually had my teeth bleached by a dentists and the results were fantastic. They do say that Teeth whitening leads to loss of Enamel, but i have a very healthy oral hygiene routine. I brush 3 times a day with a whitening toothpaste and floss and mouthwash twice a day.

Only thing I would like to add is if you have very sensitive gums or teeth, then be more cautious when choosing and using a whitening products or treatments. This is because tissues in the mouth can become irritated by the whitening and abrasive ingredients, and this can be extremely painful.

You have to be careful using any kind of tetth whitening formula. Some of them can weaken the enamel on your teeth and cause sensitivity and damage. I agree that asking your dentist is the best way to go.

There are lot of home remedies for teeth whitening. For example you can use Strawberries. Not many people are aware that strawberries contain natural teeth whitening agents and the seeds work great for cleaning. Since they also contain sugar and acids, it's important to brush immediately afterwards with a fluoride toothpaste. For easy and quick application, you can either rub the strawberry against your teeth, or mash it up and use it like toothpaste.
