I have been drinking tea contains malva verticellata twice a day for months, and I just know that I can be dependent on it. What should I do if I am dependent on it? Is there any way to make my body work normal again?

Yes, tea is a proven "technique" to cleanse the body and somehow make it strong. But be careful in choosing what tea to drink. Do not forget to include the source and the ways it was prepared. It should not contain any preservative and the leaves should be organically grown. Why? because we are drinking it therefore anything that enters our body should be toxic-free.

if it does have bad side effects or is not reccomended for long term use, then you should try to drink regular tea that tastes similar. it wil be like a mind trick, if you drink it at the same time as the other tea.

I'm also a big fan of green tea. It's an antioxidant plus it tastes great. In terms of extra energy (and taste), add a teaspoon of honey.

One thing to keep in mind though is that many green tea's contain natural caffeine, so you may not want to drink too much! One day last year I was having a frantically busy day at work (I worked in an office), and drank a ton of green tea (like 20 cups) without noticing just how much I'd had. After work I got the shakes and felt really strange, and couldn't figure out why (I'd eaten healthily and drank green tea all day???)...... only to figure it was the caffeine in the green tea, haha weird.

P.S try this, I brew it up in a coffee plunger (does 3 cups). Green tea, lemon, honey, ginger and garlic. An awesome cleansing drink first thing in the morning.

Hi SmoothieGuy,

Forgive me for checking your advertising out but I have found so many con men on here that I sometimes wonder if this forum is not a meeting place for them. I am very interested in how Cynthia R can come from Sydney one minute and achieve her wonderful result using Acai and Colon Cleanse and the next entry she comes from Altoona PA and achieved her result using Acai Pure and Colo Pure, do you smell a con?

This is interesting - Dr Nicolas Perricone is going to go after any company using his name with law suits.

A cup of hot herbal tea may feel soothing to the soul, but instead of soothing the body, some herbal teas can make you sick. This is especially true with so-called dieter's teas, herbal teas containing senna, aloe, buckthorn, and other plant-derived laxatives.

Hi SmoothieGuy,

Forgive me for checking your advertising out......

Jeez man,

no I am not a 'conman'. Can't you see that my posts are thought out and have taken time. Sorry if there's something wrong with the forum time settings (or maybe it just didn't grab my location correctly)..... but I am more concerned in participating than being pedantic about the time setting of my account (I DON'T REALLY CARE)..... Yes I agree that there is ALOT of spammy posts on this forum.... that offer no valuable info, very unfortunate, but if you look at any of my posts you will see that I am genuinely interested in health and participating in the online community.

In regards to my 'advertising,' I don't really see the problem with sharing a link to my personal site (which I am proud of, and want other people to enjoy and share their thoughts on) while contributing to others' online communities. If you John are the owner of this forum and have a problem with my contributions, or a problem with me sharing the word about my personal site, feel free to let me know and I will spend my time contributing on some other site.

I don't know if you're implying that I am Cynthia R, but I am not. Anyway, you sound like you're the owner of this forum, are you? If so, you can lookup my IP address and see that a) I am in Wellington, NZ and cool.gif I have a different IP to Cynthia R.

I hope my reply satisfies your intrigue John Bobbin, and we can get along and enjoy discussing health and nutrition, rather than wasting time throwing stupid accusations around. blink.gif

Hi smoothieGuy,

First of all have a look at this ........ http://www.healthcastle.com/aboutus.shtml

My only association with healthcastle is in attempting to bring truth and honesty to the forum, I do feel honoured to be allowed to do that because there are so many people out there that have not had the benefit of college or university education in nutrition or health, who desperately want to improve their health outlook.

I didn't try to upset you, and there was no accusation, I was merely pointing out that the advertising you are promoting is a scam, read the health reports about it. To claim that colon cleanse and acai reduce weight by themselves has been disproved, several times. Acai berry is no better than a lot of other berries for antioxidant content, it has shown some promise in early trials for some health problems but so far they are unsubstantiated by follow up research on people.

http://www.ehow.com/how_4690249_avoid-acai-berry-scam.html

You do not accumulate caked on "gunk" in the colon and to say so in the face of overwhelming evidence is lunacy. Dr Perricone is quite "peed off" about his name being used for some of these ads, and has said he will sue.

I joined healthcastle to help a few excellent post writers on here, people like dAFNia, Annie (ahyan916) , archi, Rachel Lee, engmazen, and the healthcastle team etc, who were trying to push the accuracy of the health message forward and doing a great job, I felt it was a privilege to be able to help them.

I am the owner of "John Bobbin Natural Medicine" a health clinic in Eden NSW, Australia and I work full time in this clinic 6 days per week. I write health articles in Australia for "Regional Publishers", and I campaign for the regulation/registration of Naturopaths with science degrees. I have been involved through clinical practice, research and study with nutrition and natural medicine since 1976.

I taught full contact Karate for 30 years after retiring as undefeated champion, I was ranked number 3 in NSW in two boxing divisions when I was going through high school and college, I have been South Coast tennis champion several times, and I was factory manager for the Heinz Tuna Processing Factory for 17 years, I owned a cafe for 19 years so you see I have crossed some boundaries in my time and I often draw on this experience. I have 2 sons with science degrees, one a PhD is married to a PhD, the other one is a Biologist married to a lawyer.

There you are Gregory I have no secrets, and I do like some of the stuff you have written I just like to see honesty and truth pushed to the front. Sorry for upsetting you.
