I need some help ... I have been a college instructors for over 25 years and public speaker ... the accumulation of the reflux on the back of my throat is now forcing me to clear my throat every few minutes - irritating, annoying but also dangerous in the long-term ... have seen MDs and taken Aciphex, Prevacid and now Nexium ... none seem to work ... Nexium helps a bit ... but I do not trust taking these prescription for the rest of my life ... I heard from a friend that they recovered going to homeopathic doctors - one drinking a "tea" for six months, the other taking some herbal remedies ... they both recovered ... any experience?
Thanks

Hi Robert, There are many good remedies for this problem but they have to be individualised, so you actually have to see either a naturopath or homeopath. The other thing you could try is ipping your water intake, that usually helps as well.

I used to get that a lot but since spending a few weeks in an Ayurvedic hospital in India I only get it very occasionly instead of most of the time. You may need extra acid in your stomach one option is HC1 & pepsin (swallow whole) also you could try a tablespoon of cider vinigar and see if this calms it. If either make it worse just flush with plenty of water - no harm done. When I had it I also used slippery elm powder this is really soothing. The Native Americans used it as a gruel. You just mix it with a little water it taste pretty good.
