1. Read the instructions of your juice extracting machine before beginning to juice.
2. If possible juice organic fruit and vegetables. When organic is not available, clean your vegetables with a fruit and vegetable wash and vegetable/fingernail brush to remove chemicals, waxes and pesticides.
3. Always peel citrus fruits, but leave on the white, pithy part of the peel as in contains healthy bioflavonoids.
Leave the skins on all other produce.
4. When you see a green portion at the top of carrots remove this as it may contain a toxic substance.
5. It’s a good idea to slice open your fruits and vegetables to ensure that they are fresh inside and have no
bugs hiding within.
6. To ensure you are getting the maximum goodness out of your fresh juices, drink them as soon as you can
after juicing.
7. When juicing fine leafy vegetables like spinach or herbs like parsely, compress it into a ball with your hands, then put it between a harder fruit or vegetable like apple or cucumber. That way the lighter fruit won’t fly out into the pulp container.
8. As soon as you bring your vegetables back from the market, try and wash them all at once. This means it will require less time when you are making your own juice.
9. When washing your juicer, always thoroughly clean the centrifugal juicing sieve / strainer with a brush to ensure it doesn’t get clogged. A clean sieve will separate the juice from the fiber more efficiently.
Happy juicing.
Cheers!
