Hi, im 19 years old and im worried about the fact that I simply can't eat fruit or vegatables, i phyically can't eat them, the taste, the texture ewwww. I do enjoy real fruit juices but thats about it. Im just worried about all this 'if you dont eat fruit your guna die soon business'. If anyone can help me in what to eat or any advice, that'd be great!!! Thanks
sunnyside
Hi Danny, I would suggest juicing! You could experiment and even mix a carrot and an apple, for example. Put them in the juicer and you have fresh fruit and vegetables.

Or put just one kind of vegetable in the juicer, or one kind of fruits.

Also, do make sure you take a daily multivitamin. V-8 juice is good too. That is all I can think of at the moment.

now that is some good advice sunnyside.

hey danny, i also want to encourage you to try some non-traditional ways to eat yoru frutis and veggies. bake them with cheese, roast them on the bbq, throw lots of salad dressing on it, cook them (fruits) for dessert. be adventurous, try and buy some "other" fruits at the super market. maybe more exotic ones you might like? i hope you find a method that would allow you to enjoy fruits and veggies AND reap the health benefits form them! good luck!
sunnyside
Thanks, Ian smile.gif I hope Danny can learn to like his fruits and vegies! They do taste delicious on the BBQ smile.gif

In my case, I have had to re-introduce them into my body, finding out which ones my stomach will accept and which ones don't!

Danny : Try this: Take a nice big crunchy stalk of celery and fill it with peanut butter. Then place raisins on top of the peanut butter. It's good, and nutritious.

Here's another: Useing romaine lettuce as your base, put chopped walnuts, julianne carrots, and chunks of pineapple on top and toss together. You can put your fav. dressing on it.

How are you with taking capsules?
I know of a company that has 12 fruits in one capsule and 12 veggies in another.
That's the best I can do for you.

Eat your fruits and vegetables! You've heard it since you were a child, but do you know why? Fruits and vegetables are a key part of a healthy diet and provide essential nutrients that can help optimize health and wellbeing. Not only do they help lower dietary fat and control body weight, but fruits and vegetables can also play an integral role in the fight against disease. Your parents were right! You need your fruits and vegetables!

Are You Getting Enough?

People know the benefits, but most don't incorporate enough fruits and vegetables in their diet. The United States Department of Agriculture recommends that we eat five to nine servings daily, but life's hectic pace makes it difficult to get the recommended number of servings. Rushed schedules and the ease of convenience foods mean that people often opt for quick and often not-so-healthy meals that don't include fruits and vegetables.

There Is an Option

Wouldn't it be great if you could complement your diet with a natural supplement that provides much of the nutritional benefits of fruits and vegetables? Grass Valley Orchard Blend and Garden Blend do just that! Orchard Blend and Garden Blend Whole Food Dietary Supplements are unique, proprietary blends of 12 fruits and 12 vegetables conveniently packaged in easy-to-swallow capsules. Used daily, they can help you reach the recommended daily allowance of fruits and vegetables.

The Process

Each Grass Valley Orchard Blend or Garden Blend capsule contains a unique combination of the highest quality fruits or vegetables. To help retain the natural purity of the product, no fillers or binders are added. The capsules are carefully processed at low temperature to help preserve the natural nutrients and enzymes from the fruits and vegetables.

Garden Blend

Made from 100% dried vegetable juice, Garden Blend contains a special blend of 12 vegetables that include asparagus, beet, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, garlic, kale, parsley, spinach and wheat grass.

Orchard Blend

When you fall short of the recommended daily requirements of fruits and vegetables, let Grass Valley Orchard Blend and Garden Blend lend a hand!

Who told you that if you dont eat fruit your guna die soon business? This has nothing to do with the truth.
As regards taste, I think you go for all sorts of juices..both fruit juices as well as vegetable juices if u can't eat them raw or in a meal.
Ian
All good suggestions. Nice work group.

Danny, I challenge you to a way to enjoy some fruits and veggies that you enjoy! Care to take it on? biggrin.gif/
danny
Ive tried lots of different things and still can't eat them, tried salads with dressings ect but i can't stand the taste, the only thing i can eat is lettuce and its kinda boring and tastes like plant.
sunnyside
Danny, so you can eat lettuce ? That's good...just put some pecans or walnuts on top of Romaine lettuce .
(I cannot eat the limpy iceburg lettuce)

And you could try adding some raisins or other dried fruit to your salad, along with the chopped nuts. Add a small can of white albacore tuna, and use fruit juice instead of dressing!

I do hope very much that this will help you a little! [-o<

Good suggestions sunnyside! Love the variety! As for the tuna thing, I remember reading something about Albacore tuna having more mercury than other tuna fish and may not be good for pregnant women and children.

Mercury content of Albacore tuna

But Tuna is high in omega 3's! laugh.gif
sunnyside
Ian  Happy Saturday to you! Yesss! That's why I like the Albacore tuna, because of the Omega 3's.

I did read and hear about that scare of mercury, too. But I'm a grown person, and not pregnant, so I think it's ok for me to consume.

I have to be very creative when making my lunch, as now I have to take 'Coumadine' for the rest of my life. (P.E's) I cannot have my much loved Romaine anymore!

Fruits and veggies are good for 2 reasons.
1-fiber (colon health, avoid constipation)
2-vitamins and minerals
The solution to fiber is metamucil or fiber pills, crackers.
The solution to vitamins and minerals is to take a supplement. This is where people get confused. How much of what do we need? You can't overdose on water soluble vitamins. Fat soluble vitamins( A, D, E, K), can be dangerous in excess. Vit A especially, so take beta carotene instead. The body converts it into vit. A for us as needed.
The best way to get minerals in a supplemnt is Water Divine. They make the minerals angstrum size so it will be absorbed in to the CELLS. It is water soluble. you can get it at
Hope taht helps!
