I have seen a few companies promoting oxygenated water. Apparently, it has more oxygen in it than regular water.

I can understand how more oxygen can be pumped into water, beverages companies already do that with CO2 for carbonate drinks. I know that some professional atheltes uses an oxygen chamger to help with injuries but what good is the oxygen to me if it goes into my stomach and not my lungs. Does oxygen pass through the gut lining into my blood stream? I hope not.

Anyone with more info on this one?

that's a very good question bowmah!!! i always wonder about this too!!! from biology we learnt that oxygen is transferred into our body via our lungs - how can our guts absorb oxygen? on top of that - water is H2O - so how can they put more O2 in H2O and how do we know if they won't escape once we open the cap? i'm glad that i'm not the only one wonders about things like this!!!!!

I take a product called Oxy Regeneration Plus, and I believe it helps with a number of things.

I have always taken a liquid vitamin and mineral product, but after I started the Oxy Regeneration, I could feel the vitamins work. I had a lot more energy, and felt like I could run longer while playing soccer.

It is suppose to help with the immune system too.

Just my opinion, but I take it daily now.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for jumping in. I too have always wondered about oxyganted water. I am glad it works for you and I have personally heard of other annecdotal testimonials like yours. As long as you feel it's working, then it's worth the effort and money right biggrin.gif

Hey you play soccer? Very cool! I love the game except I call it football! laugh.gif

As somebody already mentioned it you won't put more O in H2O, so where do you put the O? In the water as bubbles, the same way we put CO2 in sparking drinks. Totally useless. You'll burb any gas you ingest, eventually. As for being good, well, Oxygen is a catch 22 product. It's actually a poison. We need it as the last electron acceptors in respiration, but as a substance it's nasty. Living things had to evolve powerful anti oxydants to be able to survive it. Actually, there's a class of organism called anaeobic microbes who lack those anti oxidants, that's why you can kill them with hydrogen peroxyde, which is actually oxygenated water.
