Sorry for the dense question but I've been wondering this for weeks and though I'd finally ask someone. biggrin.gif

Are there other types of fats included in the "Total Fat" value than the four types listed on a nutrition label? For example, I have a product that has 4.5 grams of Total Fat, but the Saturated, Trans, Polyunsaturated, and Monounsaturated values only add up to 4.0 grams. I find this happens often with a variety of products, but am unsure of what the other "type of fat" could be. I realize this may just be that the values are only listed in 0.5 gram increments, but I was wondering if there's any other unlabeled type of fat that's not just round-off error in the "Total Fat" value.

hi alexa - good question! it's very likely that it's only some round-off errors. tongue.gif all fatty acids can be classified into the 4 categories you brought up - saturated, poly-un, mono-un and trans.

cheers
