Hi, my partner has just been diagnosed as quite seriously anaemic and although some helpful guidance has been given by her Doctor I wondered if anyone has had experience of this and has found a way to introduce helpful foods into their diet. If so I would be grateful to know which food groups have proven most useful. She is not an unhealthy eater ( lots of veggies and a generally low fat/low refined sugar diet) although she does have an aversion to fruit ( although I have just bought a smoothy maker and intend to get fruit into her by stealth !!)

Be pleased to hear from anyone Thanks Soupy dry.gif

oh soupy, i'm sorry to hear that. i suffer from chronic anemia so i understand how it feels. sad.gif

two quick questions: does she have heart problem or high cholesterol? also is she a vegetarian?

In case you are not aware, we have an ongoing thread about anemia http://www.healthcastle.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=119

OOps ...Forgot...... No she is not veggie, doesn't have high cholesterol or heart trouble. The Doc was surprised that she wasn't vegetarian !

In fact she is not overweight, doesn't smoke or drink very much. Is very active ( and pretty !) and as I said before generally has a good sensible diet. Without being too specific she does have a bad time each month and her Doc thinks this be the cause of the problem.
I'm gonna take good care of her though and help her get sorted.

Thanks again x
