Usually the diet for Crohn's Disease recommends high fibre when not suffering from symptoms, but if someone finds the high fibre whole wheat, multigrain type breads unsuitable for them and wants low fibre products, would wheat-free bread and Smart bread be suitable?

hi welcome to the board. you don't need to go wheat-free completely if you are only looking for low-fiber options. most refined grains (like white bread, white rice, noodles and pasta) are low in fiber smile.gif

Thanks Annie! I guess I didn't make my question clear enough. Where I work, we are encouraging employees to eat healthy and therefore, refined grains are not available at our deli counter. I don't want to get into the politics of this, but I'm looking for suitable replacements for refined grains such as wheat-free bread and smart bread that would be low-fiber options for someone with Crohn's Disease.

um.....interesting workplace policy unsure.gif

i don't know if the wheat-free bread available in your cafeteria is low-fiber or not. there are many types of gluten free flour they can use in making wheat-free bread. besides, there are high-fiber wheat-free bread available on the market too so it's really important to have access to the nutrition information.

i'm not familiar with smart bread. i can try looking it up - is "smart bread" the brand name?
