Our reader Lakrisha wondered if lactose free cow's milk is nutritionally the same as normal cow's milk. Any insight?

it should be the same! a glass of 1% lactose free cow's milk should be nutritionally equivalent to a glass of 1% normal cow's milk. only lactose has been enzymatically broken down - nothing else is changed

Annie is right. Nutritionally, lactose free cow's milk will be equivalent to normal cow's milk. The major differnece is the sweetness between the two. Lactose is broken down into glucose and galactose and these 2 smaler sugars make the lactose free milk taste sweeter. Enjoy!

what i feel is that cow's milk, the fresh one is richer and not even processed. somehow i ten dto thinkt hat those processed milk are just not what they seem to be really.as for the lactose issue, i guess lactose really makes the milk sweeter
