Hello, I have trouble having a BM so I started taking Psyllium Husks. Yesterday I noticed my BM was real dark in color. That really scared me. Does Psyllium Husks change the color of your stools? I can't say I ate anything unusual to have made my stools dark in color.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

hi pam, yes diet plays a major role in stool color and any dramatic change in diet may result in different stool color. so it's likely that psyllium husks can change the color. but if you consistently have really dark or black stool and if it concerns you, it doesn't hurt to speak to your doctor smile.gif

cheers! pls keep us posted!

Psyllium husk comes from the crushed seeds of the Plantago ovata plant, an herb native to parts of Asia, the Mediterranean and North Africa. The psyllium seed husks have been used in herbal remedies. Similar to oats and wheat, psyllium is rich in soluble fiber. Traditionally, psyllium husk is used as a gentle bulk-forming laxative for constipation.
