I have not been here for a while. For those of you who don't know me, my name is David. I am a cancer survivor. When I was 18, back in 2003, (I'm now 20 - almost 21) I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Because I was 18, I was able to choose my course of method of treatment. While I underwent chemotherapy, I chose not to go to my local doctors, and I also chose to do many things nutritionally. I went to a clinic in Chicago, where they treat the body as a whole person, and they take a holistic approach to medicine.
I was able to do this because I was 18. Unlike some people.
Abraham Cherrix (his full name is Starchild Abraham Cherrix) is 16 years old right now, and is fighting for the right to use Alternative treatments. I read a very short summary of his story in my newspaper, and I am furious. Ever since my bout with cancer, I have known that the medical system in America - especially for cancer - is terrible. The drug companies play a major role in this, and it is because chemo has been turned into a business that it is so hyped up today. I hate it, I despise it, and I'm sick of hearing about stories like this one.
Before I go on, let me first apologize for sounding so angry and so "sudden". Bear in mind that I have done lots of research on the topic, and I know what I'm talking about. Because of this, I want to do something.
Before I go banging on judges, senators & lawyers' doors, I'm trying to do a little research.
From what I read, it seems like his parents are responsible people - step 1.
Step 2) The alternative approach this guy is trying to take is using a method called they Hoxsey Method. Do you guys know anything about it?
Finally, have any of you heard of this guy and his fight to use alternative treatments? If so, what is your take on it? I want to hear your opinions.
Thanks so much,
David
