I have been learning alot about organic foods lately. No doubt there might be an advantage from less pesticide being used to grow our vegetables, but is it really worth it? What about organic meat? Is there such a thing?

biggrin.gif There certainly is - as you've been looking at the organic foods you will know that there is restriction on farm inputs to achieve certified organic status for fruit and vegies. The same applies to meat. In Australia it just takes a bit of finding a butcher who carries it. The price will be high as there will be restrictions in the processing also to retain organic certification from the farm gate to the buchers shelf. Good luck with finding it.

If you believe that the use of chemicals in the growing and processing of the food you eat is not ideal, you may hesitate less about paying a little extra for certified organic products!

I still eat non organic food but stick to fresh food. The other part of healthy food for me is avoiding highly processed food as much as possible.

Interesting. Not sure of the regulations in the US & Canada but I think it's much more strict for fruits & veggies as opposed to meats.

For what it's worth, organic bananas taste so much better than regular bananas. I personally could not tell the difference between high quality brocolli versus organic brocolli. Same goes for cauliflower and cabbage. This is purely from a taste point of view. From the pesticide perspective, no doubt there will be less in certified organic fruits & vegetables.
