After I have read " Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution"

I was so curious about the table on page 303-304 about Basic#3 Formula..

IPB Image

Can anyone help me to clarify this..

I would like to know whether the table means

- 3 Tablets will provide 20 mg of Niacin = 100 % DV
- Amount per serving means taking 3 tablets per time?
(1 Day takes 3 Tablets ONLY? That mean One day takes only 20 mg Niacin?)
- Page 307 states that “Basic #3 Formula –three times a day”: Does it mean taking 3 Tablets per day or 9 Tablets per day (3 Tablets each meal)

Thank you

Hi Ami,
You know how Americans love to abuse the English language, I think this is just another example of this.
I would imagine the dose to be 3 tabs daily of Niacin and 3 tabs daily of Chromium. Each individual tab would yield 20 mgs of Niacin or 300 mcg of Chromium and at the end of the day you would have ingested 100% of your daily requirement of Niacin and 250% of your daily requirement of Chromium.
I would not recommend the Atkins diet for weight loss unless it is a very short term project, it will cause damage over long term to kidneys and blood vessels -Ketones, Cholesterol etc.

The atkins diet is good for anyone that has type O blood as they are protein people. For some reason, a lot of people think it is dangerous but they don't realize that there are 3 stages of the diet. The first two weeks, you cut way back on your carbs and your body starts to eat it's own fat and you lose weight and have lots of energy. The second part is where you start adding more carbs but not to the point where you have too many. The third part is the maintenance. You have a balance of carbs and protein but don't add the refined sugars, etc. that will make you fat again. Fat doesn't make you fat. Sugar makes you fat. Good uck.
