huh.gif Does anyone have any idea why multivitamins make me sick when I take them? Just popping one in the morning and within a few hours I'M SICK! Cramps, and other non-mentionable effects. Now I can take individual vitamin supplements with absolutely no problem. I've been lactose-intolerant all my life, and was diagnosed with a spastic colon when I was 16(I'm told now they refer to it as IBS and I have found the cure for that) but what is it in a multivitamin that could possible be making me sick? Please, any info/help will be greatly appreciated.

I am not a doctor but I have also read many people's comments about feeling sick or nauseous after taking a multivitamin. There have been a few users who think they have narrowed it down to either zinc or iron causing the problem. Perhaps try and look for a multivitamin without or lower levels of zinc and/or iron? Just a thought.

I have never heard of a patient getting sick after the therapeutic dose of either zinc or iron. I think I would look more closely at the "B" vitamins.

I'm not sure but keep in mind that some supplement products are really low or poor quality. It doesn't hurt to do some research and get a brand that you can trust.

I agree with this. I take supplements by Andrew Lessman, you can google his name for his website. They are very good quality and I have no problems swallowing them nor do I feel sick or nausous after taking them.

I believe there is no supplement more important than a high-quality multivitamin because of our modern diets and the vitamins and minerals that are lacking in our food. Therefore, I suggest finding the highest quality multivitamin you could find and taking it every day. To me, I will pay any price for good health, so the cheap stuff isn't even worth my time. I have heard stories about people getting sick from the generic stuff from GNC and other low-quality brands, and I think this may be the reason you are getting sick from taking multi-vitamins, Debo.

I take Double X from Nutrilite and it is fantastic. I feel energized all day and it has improved my digestion, immunity and overall health and wellness. I highly recommend it to everyone I meet because of the enormous positive impact it has had on my health and everyone else's health who has tried it that I know personally. I get it through a very reliable and excellent distributor called Mirro Health Enterprises. There is a link to this website in my signature. If anyone does try it, let me know the effect it has had on you, because I have yet to hear anything negative from anyone regarding this multivitamin. I hope this helps you.

Have you ever tried an Isontonic for of Calcium? Calcium in Isotonic form, you body body absorbs approximetly 90-95%. This is due to the fact that there are no fillers, binders, or resins that make up the formula. The problem with conventional pills is that they take anywhere from 45 minutes to 4 hours to fully digest. If they even digest. I had a problem with regular pills having an upset stomach. It was due to a certain filler in the tablet. I take Isotonix calcium and lunti vitamin and no problems.

I have not tried that DevinM, but I will certainly look into it. Thanks for the info. I do already take a calcium supplement called CalMagD from Nutrilite and I have had no problems with it.

My brother in law had a similar problem when he took his multivitamins. For the longest time he couldn't figure out what was happening to his stomach, so he ate a cereal bar or had a glass of milk to coat his stomach. It seems to work well with him now.
