Hey, pretty neat! I like the new polll, it looks professional! I just voted and can't believe so many people take multivitamins!

Hi Bowmah,
I totally agree with you, its astounding how many people believe in he said she said science.
All the research I have seen concurs with the line put out by dietitians, "You are better off getting your vitamins from food, rather than attempting to get them from supplements". Simply put most vitamin supplements are a waste of money, and some actually do the reverse of what you are attempting to achieve. Nature does not provide vitamins in isolation, and science has not done enough research on complementary compounds found within fruit and vegetables that offer a synergistic benefit. Most vitamin supplements become expensive urine. There are a few exceptions like folate for spina bifita, ascorbic acid for scurvey etc but most vitamin supplements don't seem to do what they are designed for. Cochrane Collaboration research has shown this. To other traditionally trained Naturopaths out there I may seem like a traitor but my degree was a science degree not just clinically focussed, I am sorry for this but we are all on the same side.
If anyone checked the "Ape Diet "( ref; www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn3966) they would quickly observe the huge benefits obtained by synergism. The sum of the whole is much greater than the sum of the parts.
