if been diagnosed with an ulcer 3 times in the last 8 years. I can't really remember what happend (drugs) the first 2 times, but the last time was 3 months ago. Had an endoscopy and they foun the H. pylori b, an ulcer and my whole stomach was inflamed. the doctor told me that it was special because normaly only a certain part is inflamed, but in my case it was my whole stomach (maybe because it developed 8 years). After taking 2 antibiotics and omaprazol for two weeks the problem should have been over.

Now 3 months later i'm still in the same crazy making pain. I had some bloodtest to see if the H pylori was still active but that was negative. i'm traveling a lot so it's hard for me to see a doctor regulairly. Different doctors give me diffirent ideas.

Question:

Is it possible that ur stomach lining is still inflamed after 3 months..despite the eradication of the h. pylori.

Has anyone experience with with sucralfat (to protect the lining)?

I would love to hear from people who had/have a simulair story.

Sorry for my english

Tnx and be well.

Hi! smile.gif
I know this is rather late after your post but I have just registered. First thing I would like to tell you is that it seemed very strange to me that you tested the presence of Helicobacter after therapy by having a blood test!!!!
This is totally wrong and your doctor should have known it...I believe it was a false negative result as the anti-bodies to HP remain in the blood for months or even years after the bacteria has actually been killed. That's why the tests recommended AFTER therapy are either the antigen stool test or the breath test, if available...No way another blood test, as it's irrelevant and misleading...
And a suggestion: Visit the GERD forums, there are a lot of people there with similar experiences and it might help you...
I took the triple therapy only a couple of weeks ago so I haven't retested yet...Unfortunately I don't think thre's an alternative to the blood test in my country, so I may never know for sure unless I have another endoscopy. Which I won't soon...
Hope by now you are much better anyway...
