hello to all.. for anybody out there who is concerned about bone health and prevention of arthritis or opteoporosis, like I am. I found a great program online that can give a good idea of your bone mineral density, according to the intake of the right nutrients you get from your diet. I dont know much about it because I have just recently tried it, but there is not much too it. Just a few simple questions and choosing from a list of foods and selecting what you ate that day it will tell you which key bone building nutrients you need more of.. I though it was great so I wanted to share it with others..
bone health calculator if you go try it and like it or not please get back to me with a responce
Hi Beachbum,
Being a beachbum is a great lifestyle I tried it myself when I was younger, member of the lifesavers and all that stuff. The health calculator may be a good tool for calculating required nutrients, I have to confess that I didn't check it out much, but I will later. You have to separate osteoarthritis from osteoporosis. With osteoporosis you need the nutrients plus weight bearing exercise for mineralisation of the bones, swimming is no good because of bouyancy, running, walking, weightlifting etc is much better for osteoporosis. Nutrients haven't shown much success, other than a couple, for alleviating osteoarthritis symptoms and progression. Glycoaminoglycans such as glucosamine and chondroitin are the exceptions, I also use green lipped muscle extract in my clinic for osteoarthritis. If Randy is still around he will like the website I am giving you

He used runners from a running club aged 58 average and the study continued for 18 years making the runners 76 at completion. Jim found running gave chondo-protection of 12 years, Randy with your logo I would imagine you would be a runner so you may like this research.
