How many of you have gone on a diet and were eventually left disappointed? Were you told that in order to lose weight, you need to restrict eating certain foods, avoid drinking certain drinks, stop snacking, or even stop eating out? Joining me today is New York nutritionist Tanya Zuckerbrot – author of The F-Factor Diet. She says you can lose weight and keep it off by eating more, not less.

I like her comment about there's no such thing as too much fiber! I think most people think they ate too much fiber are likely not eating enough. Their bodies are not used to fiber so just little fiber may cause gas!

Don't you have to drink lots of water when you eat more fiber?

I was recently taking 5 fiber pills a day and could still hardly go potty. I also got very bad gas with it, and I always drink alot of water. What do you think?

I eat a lot of vegetables now and have no problems with constipation or gas. I think if you were a meat & dairy person and you switched over to more veggies you will get some gas, but eventually it adjusts and you are fine from that point on. I never tried fiber pills, don't know whats in them...
