I'm hooked on Oolong Green Tea leaves. Wanted to lower my blood pressure - started drinking OGT - 4 to 5 cups per day (boiling water 1st thing in morning'to kickstart' the tea leaves and top-it up all day long with warm water til bedtime) In Jan 08 my BP was 135 over 95, it's now June 08 and my BP is 110 over 70 and has been since end of Feb!! It's an excellent drink/quite addictive. Get the real tea leaves though from a healthfood store - the tea bags are too diluted and don't have the same benefits.

Hi I had to given up coffee because I have Crohn's diease at my doctors request and that I had to have sugar in my coffee which in some people puts on weight and I found out a fact about coffee that too much coffee can dehydrate the body especially if you are sick and don't drink enough liquid so I drink tea now black and green.

Me too Claire. I've also given up on coffee because of the caffeine. I can't really sleep anymore with just one cup of coffee. My mom said it's sign of aging! I'm ok with tea.

How can I lower my blood pressure as well as maintain my haemoglobin count(red blood cell)to normal (above 115)? I tried drinking green tea, yes it lowers my pressure as well as my haemogobin count.

Is drinking water related to region. We Indians stay in a temperature ranging around 30 deg. C, which goes upto to 46 deg. C in summer, should take more water to compensate the evaporation of water due to excessive heat. Also is it necessary to drink water after two hours of eating food.
