A word about Nature’s Path. Headquartered in Richmond, BC, Nature’s Path was originally on our list when this article published on Feb 2, 2025. Thanks to our supporters’ comments; we called their office on Feb 5 and have confirmed that indeed all of their breakfast cereals are now manufactured in Blaine, WA (30 mins drive from Richmond), therefore baring the “Product of USA” statement.

  2. With fruit, vegetables and chicken i have been buying local for years, but have been remiss with my dry cereal which is a big US brand I have been eating for over 30 years. So thank you for this list, will now be purchasing from this list. As the poster before me said, it all starts with “one person at a time.”

  4. I want to support as well and I will subtitute whatever I can with Canadian product. That said, the biggest problem that so far Canadian companies have not done a good job in advertising their products and companies at Canadian. This will have to change, people are willing to switch but they need to make a better job, all products should have labels on their products indicating “made in Canada” “product of Canada”, “a Canadian company” and/or indicate this in their advertisements. It’s eye opening when you look in your pantry and find that almost all your hard earned money sent to and help enrich another countries than your own. As much as possible, we should invest in our economy and make our money working in Canada. Small individuals changes and lead to a snowball effect and in just a few years, we can turn our economy from one that is completely dependant to one one that is booming.

    • Actually the GOC designates the term ‘Made in Canada” as canadian-made but foreign owned, as a lot of these named ‘canadian’ products are. They must say ‘Product of Canada’ to designate both Canadian OWNED and manufactured.

  6. My wife and I have always bought Canadian products and produce. Personally, I have always avoided US goods and services. Now, more than ever, we need to stand together to strengthen our country and maintain our resolve in ignoring the “Orange Clown” and his circus.

    • President Cheeto is delusional and totally disgraceful and disgusting! I am a proud Canadian. I will do everything that I possibly can to buy Canadian and support Canadian businesses. I refuse to shop at Costco or Walmart – both American Companies with much of their wares coming from or via the USA. We can be a totally self-sufficient country. We have people from all corners of the globe and from all walks of life with brilliant minds and we are rich in land, fresh water and precious resources that many other counties want.

  7. Im old now but when i got out of high school there were industries employing Canadians literally on every block. Along with the industrial age came all the air and water pollution which were killing folks. The government became happy just selling our raw materials to be refined in other countries which eliminated all the complaints from its citizens. . If folks want to go that route again you have to be ready to accept all the negative things that were used to shut manufacturing down years ago. Can you remember when grampa only lived til he was 60?

  8. General Mills Fibre One cereal: the box says “Product of U.S.A.” But supplies a Canadian address. We called the number provided and see told it was made in Canada. Conflicting information suggests the verbal information is BS.
    Anyone know the real story?

  9. Loblaws labels do not give information where their product is manufactured. They only say “Prepared FOR Loblaws Inc., Toronto…” Time for them to list where product is manufactured! Spent a lot of time trying to read their labels.

  10. Canada has been too dependent on the USA now that Trump gave us an eye opener it’s about time we open our doors to trade with other countries. I am Canadian and I never knew our borders were so restricted. What a shame Canada especially when I hear small businesses struggling and have to sell to USA because they can’t promote or sell to their own country. Thank you Trump but I still don’t like you.

    • One issue with sourcing other countries’ products is that Canada requires food labels to have both official languages.

    • I agree wholeheartedly! Let’s get rid of any provincial trade barriers right off the bat! I hate President Cheeto too, but he has caused us to make our borders more secure (from guns, drugs and illegal immigration coming from the USA) and he’s given us the wake-up call we’ve needed to motive us. We need to strengthen our military in an effort to be more prepared to protect and defend ourselves. We should support and help each other and every community and business, from north to south and coast to coast. It will be tough but we can get through this!! We’re proud Canadians!
